PHARMADEC STARTING WORK ON A NEW LABORATORY BLOCK FOR BIOKAR DIAGNOSTICS IN ALLONNE (OISE)
18 June 2018
PHARMADEC, the designer and builder of turnkey projects for those involved in the life sciences and well-being, has just started work on a laboratory block for BIOKAR in Allonne (Oise). This 1100 m² project is another joint project between PHARMADEC and the SOLABIA Group, of which BIOKAR DIAGNOSTICS is a subsidiary.
1100 m² of laboratories
The SOLABIA Group, which specialises in the manufacture and development of active substances and ingredients for the pharmaceutical, cosmetic and food sectors, is relying on the teams at PHARMADEC to build an extension to the site in Allonnes, which is home to the BIOKAR DIAGNOSTICS division. This subsidiary entirely dedicated to the development, production and sale of culture media and detection kits for microbiology laboratories will have a 1100m² extension to match the growth in its business.
A project designed by PHARMADEC
Thanks to its know how and its ability to work with clients in the pharmaceutical sector on their property projects, the teams at PHARMADEC worked alongside BIOKAR DIAGNOSTICS from when they first thought about designing this tailor-made building. Its in-house design team carried out a lot of work with the client to come up with a project that will satisfy all its requirements, in terms of organising the space, managing flows, controlling contamination and choosing the furniture for the laboratory.
7 months of work
It will take the PHARMADEC building teams seven months to erect this 1100 m² project built on two and a half floors. The building work has just begun with the initial preparations including the rerouting of gas and electricity networks. Work will then continue with the metal framework being erected during the summer, followed by the roofing, which will be completed in late October. The building is due to be handed over early next year.
Another joint project between the SOLABIA Group and PHARMADEC
This project once again confirms the trusting relationship that has developed between the SOLABIA Group and the teams at PHARMADEC since 2012. This latest project comes after four other completions, including a set of R & D laboratories, a preparation and storage area for powders and a production line for cosmetic ingredients. At this same site in Allonne, the PHARMADEC teams also completed a cold room in late 2016, and a modification of a chilled water network. This job was completed in early 2017. Other projects are due to follow shortly.
